The primary triggers here are rooted in the mafia violence backdrop — there is murder (including a scene where Raisa kills attackers in self-defense) and sustained violence throughout including an ambush at a church. Raisa's father is a significant source of darkness: he is physically and emotionally abusive toward her (hitting, name-calling, treating her as property), which constitutes domestic violence, physical abuse, emotional/psychological/verbal abuse, and child abuse (historic, as she was raised under his control). There are attempted kidnappings of both Raisa and her young son Lev, with the father also threatening to kill them, making harm to children a real and present threat. The pregnancy is a secret backstory element. Ivan's lie to push Raisa away reads as manipulation/gaslighting in her experience, and both characters carry significant trauma/PTSD. Raisa is watched and followed prior to the events of the book (stalking). There is power dynamics woven through the Bratva structure. The consensual spice is described as intense/rough but is not flagged by readers as non-con.
