Cult dark romance is a genre you didn’t know you needed until it grabs you by the throat and doesn’t let go. Serendee looks like a utopia — women have roles, there’s community, there’s purpose — and Angel Lawson does something genuinely clever here: she writes the indoctrination from the inside, so you’re as deep in The Way as Imogene is before you even clock what’s happening. The reverse harem setup hits different in a cult context — Elon, Silas, and Levi all have their own flavours of broken and their own lines they’re willing (or not) to cross, and Silas especially? Fam. That man deserved better from page one. Rex is vile in the way that makes you certain book two is going to make you feel things you’re not ready for. This is a dark one — non-con is present and handled messily, food control runs throughout, and the power dynamics are not soft — go in with your triggers checked. But if cult psychology, morally wrecked MMCs, and a FMC who slowly starts finding her spine are your thing, you’re going to one-click the sequel before you’ve finished this page.
